Colorbar
USA has certainly raised the bar when it comes to their Velvet Matte
lipstick range. The colors are true to their names - from soft nudes to
bright bold lippies. And there is a wide variety to choose from for any
and everybody tastes.
My
foray into this range was with the Obsessed Orange shade. The craze
about Orange started off last year when Pantone declared it the Color of
the Year 2012. So, me being a person who had never owned a cosmetic in
any shade of orange, started hunting down the best and the brightest
among them and landed on this. Was this worth the buy?
It
is encased in a silver tube, with a see through clear plastic cap bearing the name
Colorbar. The shade name is on a label at the bottom.

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick - Obsessed Orange |
The
color is a true-to-its-name Orange. No shimmer, no shine, just pure
matte opaque Orange. There are no hints of any undertones - no pinks,
browns, or reds. A single swipe delivers great pigmented product. There is a slight lustre to it which looks
pretty.
My disappointment is with regards to its slightly drying nature. Although its not as
drying as a true matte lippie, it tends to dry out after a while. I wear this color with a clear lip balm. It eases up the color, makes
it slightly sheerer which works just fine for me, as I do not like my lips
looking heavy and deep. It does have a con, though: it tends to transfer easily.

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick - Obsessed Orange |
Although
it is a very bright and fresh orange-y shade, it is quite wearable so
those of you who haven't tried any bold lipsticks yet and are looking to
start with a great orange color, then this one is a great buy. It works
as a great summer color.
